Meme's Kleen Kitchen
About Meme's Kleen Kitchen
A visit to Meme's Kleen Kitchen starts with a friendly, no-frills vibe that sits comfortably at 401 E Gibbs St, Del Rio, TX 78840. The storefront looks like a neighborhood secret passed along by locals, and the atmosphere feels more like a grandmother's kitchen than a fancy bistro. Casual seating, a small counter, and handwritten daily specials on a board give a relaxed energy that invites lingering over plates.
The menu leans into Southern comfort with some unexpected twists. Breakfast options stack high with fluffy pancakes, scrambled plates, and savory breakfast tacos, while lunch and dinner shift toward hearty sandwiches, stews, and daily specials that rotate by the week. Portion sizes are generous, and prices are wallet-friendly without skimping on flavor. Signature items worth tracking down include the slow-simmered brisket and a pot-roasted dish that often earns the loudest praise from regulars. A modest but thoughtful selection of sides and desserts rounds out the offerings, and the kitchen seems to take pride in scratch-made touches.
Service moves at a friendly, efficient pace during off hours and slows when the crowd pushes in, which makes sense for a popular local joint. The team behind the counter wears a home-cooking mentality on a sleeve, moving between burners and customer hoops with practiced ease. Cleanliness feels intentional, a subtle nod hinted at in the name, and the dining area stays tidy even during rushes. Street parking can be tight near the corner, but a short walk typically solves that problem for most guests.
Reviews around town and online emphasize consistent flavors and warm hospitality. Many reviewers praise the generous portions and down-to-earth prices, while a few mention occasional waits on weekend mornings. Those mixed notes do not overshadow the overall sentiment: this place delivers comfort food with personality. Repeat visits appear common, and recommendations often come from word-of-mouth more than flashy ads.
In short, this kitchen is a dependable stop for anyone craving honest, unfussy food on 401 E Gibbs St. Expect homestyle plates, friendly faces, and a menu that reads like a comforting conversation. Those seeking a polished dining experience should look elsewhere, but for a genuine neighborhood meal that feels like a good find, this spot deserves a try.

Ordered my food and waited for about 20 minutes before checking on my order. Employees here were not aware of my order and could not tell me when it would be ready. Other people showed up after calling order in and their orders were still not ready . Employee then checked on my order and unaware she had charged me and I already paid for it.
Fries were soggy and bland. Burger did not taste the greatest and not worth the wait.

Best onion rings that I’ve had in a long time. In town for business and heard many good things about this spot. One of the few that I have visited that actually lived up to the talk. Originally came for the chicken and it was pretty good, but those onion rings were the real star of the show. Definitely worth a return trip

Onion rings were the best I’ve ever had. Huge and crispy all the way though. Amazing juicy burgers. Chicken gizzards were amazing. Fries were a little soggy. Overall great food
